A single-stage AC induction electric motor is a brushless electric motor designed with an individual stator coil. Bi-directional drives
When a electric motor with a long lasting phase-shift capacitor can be used, the direction of rotation can be reversed by means of two AC switches connecting the phase-change capacitor in series with either of the two stator windings.
